Junior Leadership Team
Each year we democratically chose a Junior Leadership Team (JLT) to lead our school. Our JLT are made up of two children from each class who meet every week to discuss issues, events and ways to make our school an even greater place.
This term we will be focusing on:
- School Dinners
- British Values
- Our Learning environment
We take part in termly book looks where we monitor the learning that is taking place and we provide feedback to teachers. We are ambassadors for our school so we also regularly show visitors around our school and are able to talk about all of the brilliant things that happen at Rhyl. We have reviewed our pupil survey and made suggestions to the Senior Leadership Team about ways to improve and adapt what we do.
At Rhyl, we have exciting Superheroes which help us to develop our learning skills. We talk to our class about these and share what we have been doing in JLT. Please go to our BLP page for more information and to meet our Superhero and Learning Piece Characters.
Some feedback from children:
‘I love being on JLT because I get to make decisions about my school’
‘I love being on JLT because I can say what is going well and think about ideas on how to improve our school’
‘Being on JLT is fun because you get to find things out before other children, like making the BLP Superheroes’
‘Being on JLT is fun because we organise events and we do assemblies where we can get messages across to all of the children and teachers. We also do a lot for charity and I like that’
